For international or cross-border shipments that are heavier and less time sensitive, we recommend using our Airfreight service. Through relationships with key airfreight forwarders, ConvergEX is able to draw on infrastructure, expertise with superior systems at a highly competitive rate.

For those heavier and consolidated shipments within the borders of South Africa that you can afford to have delivered within 3 to 4 days, we recommend our economical Deferred National Roadfreight service. We can also offer a Cross-Border Roadfreight service to neighbouring countries on request. We'll need a little notice to effect the collection and transportation, and our call centre agents are on standby to help you through the process.

For larger shipments that can afford longer lead times, stretching into weeks, we recommend our Seafreight service. This is a more cost effective solution for larger bulk and consolidated shipments. We draw on the capabilities and experience of our partners to give a competitive edge to our customers.

Please note that due to the extreme volatility of the Oil price, and subsequently the price of jet fuel, all tariffs are subject to a fluctuating Fuel Surcharge. This is a percentage surcharge calculated from an index and applied to the shipping charge, which is based on the average spot price of Kerosene-Type Jet Fuel, calculated one month in arrears (due to the release dates of the data). For example, December's Fuel Surcharge will be determined by the average spot price of Kerosene-Type Jet Fuel in October.
Whilst we make every attempt to minimise the impact, this is an industry norm and is passed from airlines to carriers to customers. The index is based on an industry standard, being the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) Index which we welcome our customers to view. The Fuel Surcharge levied will fluctuate up or down in 0.5% increments as per the table below:
